1. Match the media to the dust, not the equipment
Media selection should start with the dust: temperature, abrasiveness, moisture, and particle size. The equipment only sets the dimensions.
2. Surface-loaded vs depth-loaded
Surface-loaded media keeps dust on the outer layer and cleans more easily. Depth-loaded media holds more dust before cleaning but is easier to overload and blind permanently.
3. Do not mix suppliers without retesting
Media grades are not interchangeable across suppliers even at the same nominal rating. Switching supplier usually means a new pressure-drop and efficiency baseline.
4. Specify the width precisely
Media slit to the wrong width will wrinkle or leave gaps in the holder. Measure the actual internal width of the housing, not the nominal frame size.
